Aruê, Jerônimos
In Aruê, Jerônimos, the meeting of generations preserves and reinvents the tradition of congada in the Jerônimos community, in Passos, Minas Gerais. The documentary follows the rites, songs and gestures that have passed down through time, passed down from parents to children, from masters to apprentices. Amid the beating of drums and the power of coronations, the film reveals how congada remains alive in everyday life, affirming identity, spirituality and belonging, amid the transformations of the contemporary world.
The Battle of Water in
in Ouro Preto (Documentary)
Explores the public debate around water privatization in a historic Brazilian city. The film follows the political, environmental and social impacts of the process, and the collective struggle for remunicipalization.
