Director of Photography, filmmaker
and curator based in Spain, working across documentary, fiction, music videos
and cultural productions.
Matheus José Vieira is a Brazilian
director of photography, filmmaker and curator. He is the founder and artistic
director of the International Film Festival of Ribeirão Preto (FICRP) and
curator of the travelling exhibition Memória e Identidade.
His work spans fiction, documentary,
music videos and commercial productions, combining cinematography with
research-driven visual development. His films have been screened and awarded at
festivals across Brazil, Latin America, Europe and the United States.
Matheus holds a degree in Audiovisual
Production, a Master’s in Image and Sound from UFSCar, and is currently
pursuing a PhD in Multimeios at UNICAMP. His academic research examines
cinematographic language, Brazilian cinema and visual aesthetics.
He has also studied cinematography,
production design and visual effects in Brazil, Australia and the United
Kingdom. He is a member of the Brazilian Association of Cinematography (ABC)
and the São Paulo Association of Filmmakers (APACI). Based in Spain, he is
available for productions and collaborations throughout Europe and
internationally.
